CALL FOR PAPERS
SPECIAL ISSUE OF RHIZOMES: DELEUZE AND FILM
Deadline for Submissions: April 15, 2008.
This special issue of Rhizomes calls for essays that explore ways in
which the works of Deleuze or Deleuze and Guattari in collaboration
contribute to the critical analysis, theory, or historical study of film.
Of special interest are essays that utilize or investigate concepts from
Deleuze's cinema books, although essays that use any aspect of Deleuze's
work are welcome.
We welcome as well papers focused on significant responses to Deleuze's
work on cinema (by Zizek or Badiou, for example) or ones that connect
Deleuzian concepts to other important thinkers in ways that bear on how
we see film. Other possibilities include essays that respond to the work
of prominent Deleuzian theorists who have recently published overviews of
his work on film, including Claire Colebrook and Ronald Bogue.
Overall, we seek essays that challenge not only the established
approaches to cinema studies but also those that propose new and even
radical readings of Deleuzian concepts regarding film.
Completed essays should be submitted by April 15, 2008; abstracts and
inquiries well prior to this date. Send submissions to via email or hadr-
copy to
