*Students learn how to do things by doing them* / Russ Edgerton

I have learned that Andreas Brockhaus and Martha Groom will give
another presentation on "Using Wikipedia to Reenvision the Term Paper"
this coming Tuesday, March 18, 2008, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.(>>Mountain
Time<<) at the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative 2008 Online Spring Focus
Session: Real-World and Technology-Rich: Learning by Doing, Learning in
Context

BTW: Use the The World Clock - Time Zone Converter [

Day and Time]

**Using Wikipedia to Reenvision the Term Paper**

_Speaker(s)_
Andreas Brockhaus, Manager, Learning Technologies, University of
Washington Bothell
Associate Professor, Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences, University of
Washington Bothell

_Abstract_
To enhance the learning experience of a term paper, students were
required to publish their papers in Wikipedia. Publishing for a large
audience provided authentic feedback and encouraged students to do their
best work. Using Wikipedia also allowed students to connect with a
vibrant community and share their knowledge by making their papers
publicly accessible.

The 2008 ELI Spring Focus Session is now being conducted as an Online
Event. The program and registration for the event are now live

**Please note** that registration for this online focus session will
CLOSE THIS SUNDAY, March 16.

The Program and More Details and Links Are Available at

NOTE-1: As of March 2008, ELI is using Adobe Connect to host our web
events.

Whether you*ve participated in an ELI web event before or you*re
joining us for the first time, please run the Adobe Acrobat Connect
Connection Test before the event. The test takes approximately 30
seconds and will verify that your computer meets hardware and software
requirements to use Adobe Connect, and will provide instructions for
installing Adobe Flash, if needed

NOTE-2 This is a Live Event And Registrants Can Virtually Participate

This appears to be a Spring 2008 version of a presentation of the same
title given at the EDUCAUSE Annual Conferences last Fall (10/23/2007)

***Don't Forget That Registration For This Online Focus Session Will
CLOSE TOMORROW, March 16***

Enjoy!
