Service Officer - Intute: Health & Life Sciences (Part-time)

Intute is a JISC-funded service that provides access to high-quality
Internet resources for the UK higher and further education communities.
The Health and Life Sciences section is based in Nottingham and was
formerly known as BIOME. A Service Officer is required for the Health
Sciences subject area of the service with specific responsibility for the
Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health gateway. The successful candidate
will be responsible for the selection, evaluation, description and review
of Internet resources for inclusion in the Intute catalogue, and will be
required to contribute to the development and maintenance of additional
services and training and support materials. Duties will also include co-
ordinating and checking the work of external content providers, as well as
a range of marketing and liaison activities.
Candidates must have a first degree or postgraduate qualification (or
equivalent) in librarianship/information science or a health science.
Experience of work in an area of the health sciences is also required, as
are familiarity in the use or development of web based information
services, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability
to undertake a range of marketing activities.
Salary will be within the range £25,134 - £32,796 per annum, pro rata,
depending on qualifications and experience (salary can progress to £35,837
per annum, pro rata, subject to performance). Hours of work are 18 per
week, to be agreed.
