Digitisation and Digital Preservation Specialist – Temporary Post
Limit of Tenure – Five years from date of appointment
Grade 8: £30,012 - £40,335 pa
Applications are invited for the post of Digitisation and Digital
Preservation Specialist, to take the lead in managing the implementation of
the University Library’s strategy for digitising items from its
world-renowned collections. Working in collaboration with staff from the
Special Collections and Electronic Services divisions you will be
responsible for the implementation of the Library's digitisation strategy,
co-ordination of a number of concurrent digitisation projects, and for
developing and overseeing the implementation of a digital preservation
strategy for Library collections.
You should have a good honours degree, a postgraduate qualification in a
relevant field, excellent project management skills, together with a good
understanding of digital imaging processes and a good working knowledge of
metadata schemes currently in use within the academic or cultural heritage
communities and experience of metadata creation.
