1. Blogs, Wikis & Social Networking, 22nd April

This practical workshop aims to get beyond the hype and show what blogs, wikis and other social software tools can do for you, whether you are a publisher or consumer of web-based information.
Topics covered include:
The changing ethos of blogging, and its potential applications
Creating, enhancing and managing blogs
The emergence of other social software tools such as wikis, MySpace and mashups
Real-life examples of the technologies in action
Advantages and pitfalls of these technologies
2. Podcasting: A Practical Guide, 23rd April

Producing a podcast is simple, but producing a podcast that people will listen to and subscribe to takes a bit more know-how. What makes a good podcast? What equipment do you need? How do publish your podcast?
This workshop provides a practical guide to the planning, production and publishing of effective podcasts that will engage listeners. Participants will have the opportunity to evaluate a range of podcasts, as well as record, edit and publish a podcast.
Topics covered include:
Understanding podcasting - from media and news through to education
Planning - defining your audience and creating your format
Production - scripting, interviewing, recording and editing
Publishing - hosting, RSS and syndication
Promoting - podcast directories, blogs and search engine optimisation
3. CSS: Techniques, Tips & Tactics, 24th April

Do you understand the basics of CSS, but still look at other web pages and think, "How did they do that?". This new workshop will explore the common CSS concepts underpinning many current design features, introduce advanced techniques and help you plan your work from design through to delivery.
Topics covered include:
An exploration of common CSS designs and the techniques used to create them
Assessing online resources - the good, the bad and the proof of concept
Dynamic navigation and menu techniques
Exploiting the box-model for layout - columns, curves, images and backgrounds
Advanced selectors and pseudo-selectors - more than just :hover
Media-specific styles
Planning for effective design
