Oxford, UK, 31st March 2008
Burgundy is pleased to announce that The Society of Photo-Optical
Instrumentation Engineers, Inc have negotiated preferential terms with
NESLi2 for their innovative electronic resource the “SPIE Digital Library”.
The SPIE Digital Library is the most extensive resource available on optics
and photonics, providing unprecedented access to more than 230,000 technical
papers from SPIE Journals and Conference Proceedings from 1990 to the
present. More than 17,000 new research papers are added annually.
Speaking about the unprecedented new deal Nancy Buckley, Managing Director
of Burgundy said “I was excited to learn that JISC Collections were
launching an initiative to encourage the licensing of products from small
and medium sized publishers and instantly recommended that SPIE DL was
included as the authoritative database for light research”. Marybeth
Manning, Director of Digital Library Sales and Business Development at SPIE
agreed that “it is exciting to know that all HE institutions in the UK now
have the option to license our database across campus for all of their
academics at prices which are banded especially to fit the UK market.”
UK universities looking to learn more about the NESLi2 offering should
contact Burgundy Information Services who specialize in advising publishers
on their price models, negotiating consortia licenses and marketing new
digital products to the UK & European markets.
