(A message from the Forced Migration & Refugee Studies Program, American University in Cairo.)

Dear All,

Please find below a link to our new film, "Iraqis In Cairo: Time is Running Out"

http://homepage.mac.com/jvanpraag/IRAQIS_IN_EGYPT/iMovieTheater11.html

The film was made over a five week period this year, produced for only a few
hundred dollars with the help and expertise of a small and very dedicated group
of individuals.

This short documentary takes a look at the lives of six Iraqi families who have
been forced to flee their homes in Iraq and are now living as refugees in Egypt.
Like millions of others who have been driven out of their country since the
American invasion in 2003, they are living in increasingly desperate situations
with little or no rights in their country of asylum.

While the majority of media coverage has focused on 'the war' in Iraq. These
people have been largely forgotten or ignored by the very politicians and
leaders who championed that same war as a chance to bring democracy, freedom and
peace to the very people it is now abandoning.

It was our hope to have the website www.IraqisInEgypt.com up and ready in time
to coincide for the release of this film but time and man-power constraints have
delayed plans for the site. I'll be emailing you with news about the website
and more info on how you can help. In the meantime, we hope you will join us in
expressing your support for all Iraqi refugees by contacting your Senators /
Congressmen / Members of Parliament and asking them to push our governments on
this issue. We strongly believe that the United States and Great Britain have a
moral obligation to help these refugees now, before more lives are lost
unnecessarily.

We may all have our differences on what course of action should be take inside
Iraq, but we can all agree on how to take care of its refugees.

Thank you for watching, please pass this on to others and let me know should you
have any ideas regarding distribution beyond the world wide web.

Best,

Joshua van Praag
