Call for Tutorials
DIMEA2008, the 3rd ACM International Conference on Digital Interactive
Media in Entertainment and Arts, which will be held in Athens, Greece
10-12 September 2008, invites international experts to present half day
tutorials (2x90 minutes) providing in-depth knowledge and sharing their
experience on a variety of topics related to the themes of DIMEA, i.e.,
digital interactive media in entertainment, art and creative technologies.
Proposals are welcome on topics that have been previously addressed;
however, new approaches or insights will be especially valued.
Tutorial topics will be presented on the first day of the conference
(September 10, 2008) in a taught format, ranging from practical guidelines
to academic issues and theory, and may be addressed to an audience at an
introductory or advanced level.
All speakers of accepted Tutorials will receive free participation to the
conference, including special and regular session's participation, coffee
breaks and lunches, conference banquet and conference proceedings. All
tutorial lecturers are allowed to attend other tutorials at no extra
charge, subject to space being available.
Submission Details
Tutorial proposals, typically no more than 4 pages, should be submitted in
electronic form by April 18th, 2008, in PDF format. Submitted tutorial
proposals should contain the following information:
* Author(s) detail(s):
o Name(s)
o Institution
o E-mail addresse(s)
o URL
* Tutorial details:
o Title of Tutorial
o Abstract of the tutorial
o A detailed outline of the tutorial, including state-of-the-art
issues of the area as well as any recent advances made possibly
a schedule and a list of relevant publications.
* A statement of the potential target audience for the tutorial (i.e.,
the necessary background required by the attendees).
* A brief resume of the presenter(s) indicating their background in
the tutorial area.
* If a (similar) tutorial was previously held, the location (i.e.
which conference), date, and the number of attendees.
All tutorial proposals will be reviewed by external reviewers and/or the
tutorial co-chairs, based on the quality of the submitted proposals, the
qualification of the presenters, relevance to the conference, and balance
of topics.

Notification date: Monday, May 19, 2008
