Before next month's project presentations, we'd like to set up an
informal opportunity for anyone interested in presenting preliminary
scanning results from BUCNI. The idea is that anyone with results
(or partial results) will have an chance to present them informally
and discuss what they mean, how to proceed with the analyses,
etc. So it's definitely a work-in-progress idea rather than finished
results and hopefully everyone present will share any ideas they have.
I think there are a number of potential benefits in doing
this. First, it's a chance to get feedback for the researcher as
well as insights from people outside the specific field of the
study. For instance, that tricky cerebellar activation that shows up
in your auditory learning experiment might be totally reasonable when
seen in the light of classic conditioning. By having lots of
different researchers there, multiple interpretations might come up
that can be helpful. Second, it lets others know of some of the
successes of the new imaging centre and hopefully encourages others
to get involved.
If anyone would be interested in possibly presenting some of their
results, please let me know. I'm thinking 1 or 2 data presentations
would be enough for an hour slot because we'd like to encourage
discussion and brain storming.
If there is sufficient interest, we'll do it in the hour before next
month's project presentations: 2-3pm, Thursday 24 April for the data
and 3-4pm for project presentations.
Cheers
Joe
