The Healthcare Commission exists to promote the improvement of quality of
the NHS and independent healthcare. Authoritative and trusted statistical
information is critical to driving healthcare improvements, and as part of
our Informatics team you can expect involvement in a wide range of projects
in support of our analytical functions.
Your role will extend from delivering hands-on analyses of large, national,
complex datasets to providing consultative, expert advice on statistical
methodology. As well as delivering findings that influence the work of
Trusts, the Department of Health and our own teams, you’ll identify and
implement method improvements and undertake rigorous checks to ensure our
analyses meet agreed criteria.
Ideally you will have spent several years assimilating and analyzing health-
related data, be adept at using statistical software including STATA, SPSS,
SQL and Excel, and have a detailed understanding of applied statistical
methodology. Equally important will be the verbal and written communication
skills to deliver concise and relevant findings to strict deadlines.
Please apply online at www.healthcarecommission.org.uk where applications
are also welcome from applicants looking for secondment opportunities.
Closing date for completed applications: 7th of April 2008.
The Healthcare Commission welcomes applicants from all sections of the
community, regardless of gender, race, disability, sexuality or age.
