PHD STUDENTSHIPS IN STATISTICS

Applications are invited for PhD studentships associated with the
Cambridge Statistics Initiative. This Initiative is targeted at the
development of novel statistical methodology, be it generic or in specific
application areas.
The studentships will provide funding for fees, and a stipend at least
equivalent to the national minimum (£12940 for the academic year 2008/09),
for a minimum period of 3 years commencing on 1 October 2008.
The studentships will be based in the Statistical Laboratory, Department
of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, Centre for Mathematical
Sciences, Wilberforce Road, Cambridge CB3 0WB
(http://www.statslab.cam.ac.uk).
Applicants must qualify for admission to the PhD programme at the
University of Cambridge. They should normally hold (or expect to be
awarded) a first class UK honours degree or equivalent and a postgraduate
qualification in Mathematics or Statistics.
