Sustrans, the UK's leading sustainable transport charity, which promotes the National Cycle Network and other initiatives, is seeking to fill the following key roles:
Project Assistants, Research and Monitoring Unit
(Ref: NCN516A) - three vacancies
£13,000 - £19,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week - Based in Newcastle
Sustrans' Research and Monitoring Unit is responsible for cycling/walking route usage monitoring throughout the UK. Three enthusiastic individuals are needed to support work on data collation, analysis and reporting in relation to a number of innovative cycling and walking related projects of national significance - with special responsibility for:
* active travel consortium evaluation delivery and data interpretation
* data manipulation
* Bike It data collation, plus general support
Each post requires people either educated to degree level in a relevant subject or with previous experience in a related field. You will have experience of data management, be familiar with analytical and statistical techniques, have sound number work and writing skills and have excellent general communication skills. Suitability for candidates of each role will be determined by the balance of these skills. You will have a basic understanding of contemporary transport issues, be IT literate and possess the flexibility to play a key role in a small team in a rapidly evolving environment.
