If you are interested in attending the Annual Meeting for Tea
Dear all
If you are interested in attending the Annual Meeting for Teachers of Medical Statistics 2008, which is scheduled to take place from 9 - 11 April, there are still plently of places available and due to extra places being kept aside this year, multiple applicants from the same institution are welcome to attend. The orginal message containing details of the talks, the registration process and how to get to the venue are provided below for your convenience. However, I have also extended the deadline for registration to 29 March 2008 to encourage more delegates to attend. Please also kindly note the three specific opportunities for offering a contribution which are listed below.
I hope to hear from you soon!

Dear all
You have received this message because you are currently on the mailing
list to receive information regarding the Annual Meeting for Teachers of
Medical Statistics, which I have the privilege of organizing this year.
If you no longer wish to be on this list or wish to have a name added to
this list, please kindly let me know.
The Annual Meeting for Teachers of Medical Statistics 2008 is scheduled
to take place at Burwalls Centre for Continuing Education, Bristol
(http://www.bristol.ac.uk/burwalls/ ) from 9 -11 April 2008.
Comprehensive details can be found under 'Other news' --> ' Annual
Meeting for Teachers of Medical Statistics 2008' at

At this above site, you can access the following:

so please have a look!
Due to restrictions on numbers, I would be most grateful if you would
run your intention to register past me by e-mail whilst including your
full contact details, before completing the registration form. This way,
I can keep a record of those intending to register and ensure that the
Meeting is not over-booked. In the first instance, bookings are
restricted to at most one person per institution (with the exception of
cases where principal speakers are included). However, if you are keen
to have an extra person attend from your institution, please let me now
and I shall keep them on a reserve list for future reference, should
places still be available closer to the time of the meeting.
There is a varied programme of events, covering topics in Evidence-Based
Medicine (EBM), current development and research projects in teaching
medical students, acting as an expert witness and the effective display
of data. Some time has been set aside for leisure activities too!
There are a few further opportunities on offer for interested delegates.
These are as follows:
* volunteers are required to provide equipment for and to organize a
game of rounders on the Thursday afternoon - although those who have a
strong preference for crochet or other team games should let me know!
* there may be space for an extra half-hour session on the Thursday
morning, so please feel free to contact me directly if you are
interested in contributing. For the purpose of continuity, it would be
preferable if you were able to contribute specifically to the theme 'How
should we teach EBM to undergraduate medical students?'.
*the after-dinner speaker slot is still up for grabs - a light-hearted
but stimulating talk is needed here as a follow-on from a hearty meal.
Let me know if you would like to fill any of these places.
Please do not hesitate to let me know if I can be of further assistance.
I look forward to meeting you in April!
Every best wish
Margaret MacDougall
