We are also interested in lactate for the same reason. Some of our POCT
blood gas analysers have lactate, but these aren't widely accessible
across the Trust. Roche had a meter, but I had difficulty in getting
any information about it and I gather that it is no longer available.
NOVA are bringing one out - they have one for sports use, but it needs
FDA approval for clinical use. I suggest you contact them to see how
it's going. Try emailing [log in to unmask] or ring 01244

Dear Colleagues
I was wondering if anyone has any experience of using hand held lactate
analysers for whole blood POCT. The specific use we are considering is
the outreach teams assessing patients for sepsis prior to or for
avoiding admission to ICU.
Thanks for your help
