Ah, we just realised something here. There used to be two structure
viewers, one in the Edit Structures (Current Structures) dialog and one in
the Structure Viewer. Tim has removed the former one from our checked-in
code but the version in the release (with the updates) still has it in.
That structure viewer does not have the ability to left mouse click, only
the "proper" Structure Viewer. And it is for the "proper" one that we
cannot reproduce this problom of the residues not highlighting (either on
OSX or on Linux). The other viewer was not implemented to have this (and
will be removed shortly enough). (Tim also says that this feature is
still a "work in progress".)
