Applications are invited for the full-time, three year fixed-term
position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant or
Associate Professor, respectively, in the US system) in the area of
Transportation Engineering in the Department of Civil and Natural
Resources Engineering at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New
Zealand.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in an appropriate discipline.
Tertiary teaching experience, and a record of collaboration with the
transportation engineering profession, will be an advantage, as will
research and teaching interests in one or more of the following:
multi-modal transport; design of transport facilities; intelligent
transport systems; transportation infrastructure management.
The appointee will teach transportation engineering at the undergraduate
and postgraduate levels, and will be expected to have a commitment to
excellence in teaching at both levels. The appointee will also be
expected to establish a vigorous and high quality research programme, in
collaboration with colleagues in the University and elsewhere, and to
supervise the research of BE (Hons), Masters and PhD students in
transportation engineering.
