A friend of a friend has asked if it is feasible for a GP in this
country to prescribe (privately) for a family member in a southern
African country where supplies of the patient's antihypertensives are no
longer available.
Obviously there are issues of taking responsibility for prescribing when
the GP doesn't have direct control of the usual monitoring, but I
wondered if anyone has any suggestions, including better ways of
obtaining medication supplies?
It seems to me that a better option would be for the patient to travel
to a neighbouring country where the medication may be available but I
don't know about the practicalities out there are and you may have other
ideas.
I'm not planning to get directly involved.
