Our lab images (all Windows XP) average out at 7.7GB, ranging from about 4GB to 15GB. All of this is using Ghost fast compression, which probably compresses it to about 70% of the original size.
As we move to Vista we're going to make more use of Softgrid, which we hope will reduce the image size and number of images, as only "core" apps will be in the image, with additional apps being streamed from Softgrid as required.
