> What level of support do you currently provide for Vista?
> e.g. Notebooks that only run Vista alone, any staff machine, etc
Limited support for personally owned student laptops - ie virus and
connectivity isses.
Conversion issues arising with use of Office 2007
Some support for software installation of site licensed software
Some staff also have Vista laptops and we will set them up with Office
productivity tools but not connect them to our Novell infrastructure
> When are you planning on improving on these?
We are planning to increase web pages regarding software compatibility and
hardware requirements.
We are testing Novell tools for Vista but not a high priority as yet.
> Are you planning a roll-out of Vista to some/all of open-access areas?
> If so, when/what proportion?
Not at the moment and now there is a release date for next Windows OS not
sure if we should so this review is of great interest. In the light of SP1
even less sure about Vista/
> Are you planning an upgrade programme for some/all staff machines?
> If so, when/what proportion?
We started buying PCs capable of running Vista last summer but have a 4/5
year cycle so we could trial a Vista desktop if necessary but not planning
to as still busy perfecting our XP delivery methods!!
