RESEARCH ASSISTANTS -- The Center for Autism Research (CAR) at The
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking full-time clinical
research assistants to participate in cutting-edge neuroimaging studies
on normal and abnormal brain development in children and young adults
with autism spectrum disorders. RA candidates should have a strong
background in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, biomedical
engineering, computer science, or a related field. Previous
experience/knowledge in experimental psychology, autism, cognitive
science, statistics, computer programming, and/or functional MRI will be
viewed favorably. Minimum commitment is two years.

Successful applicants will have opportunities to participate in various
clinical and research experiences, including clinical rounds, seminar
presentations, and interactions with renowned research scientists,
clinicians and postdoctoral fellows. Selected RAs will be trained in
magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and will work on studies of emotion
(e.g., arousal and emotion modulation), social perception (e.g., face
perception, prosody perception, mirror neurons), social cognition (e.g.,
semantic influences on perception, theory of mind), reward processing,
or any aspect of socio-emotional functioning potentially related to
autism. Daily tasks may vary from the design of experiments, recruitment
of subjects/patients, operation of experimental programs and paradigms
to the analysis and publication of results.

Interested applicants should submit a resume, statement of career
interests and objectives, and two names of references with knowledge of
