We are pleased to inform/remind you of the 1ST WORKSHOP ON IMAGINING
BUSINESS "REFLECTING ON THE VISUAL POWER OF MANAGEMENT,ORGANISING AND
GOVERNING PRACTICES" that will take place in Oxford, U.K. - June 26-27,
2008

We welcome papers and extended abstracts (500–1500 words) from a range
of disciplines and approaches (organizational theory, accounting,
geography, art, sociology, communication studies, architecture,
philosophy, social studies of technology...) that seek to explore the
theoretical and empirical issues related to a diversity of themes. The
following issues provide an indication of some of the topics you may
wish to examine, but we do not wish to limit the range of possible
topics for discussion:
* Iconography and images in business
* The scenography of images and the channelling of attention
* Making business and organizing visible and thinkable
* Power of signs and issues of engagement
* Processes and practices of visualization and interpretation
* Exploring surfaces and media in relation to images (e.g. paper,
screens, walls, digital, etc) as well as the tools used for
designing images
* Understanding agency and the role of imagining
artefacts (pencils, computers, cameras…)
* Imagining the future through visualization
* Images in relation to dialogue and texts
* Understanding the senses for perceiving images
* Images, Myths, Icons and Metaphors, and other related subject areas...
