Hi everyone
I've recently started at Newcastle City Council with a records management
remit. I'd be very grateful if anyone has any ideas for this query!
One of our sections has some 'damp' confidential waste paper - the paper
has become wet from a leaking bin. Ordinarily, the Council would shred
confidential waste - however, my understanding is that shredders will be
unable to cope with damp paper - it sets into concrete apparently from the
heat! I know the only option is to dry out the paper.
Does anyone know of any shredding companies in the North East of England
who would be able to dry out our confidential waste and shred it?
Alternatively, does anyone have any suggestions against drying out and
shredding - is there an alternative method I have missed?
Any help or pointers greatly appreciated.
Sarah
