A song we sang when young visited me in the sleepless night but without all
the words. Google provided these on a site called
NIEHS
Which explains
Everything in your environment
may have some impact on your health.
Yes, that even includes music -- music is an important part of our
"environment". Although NIEHS does not study the effects of music on the
body, other scientists have studied its impact on physical and mental
functions for many years. Most notably, music can measurably reduce stress
and pain levels. For example, research supported by the National Institute
of Nursing Research recently found that listening to music reduced patients'
pain levels following major abdominal surgery. And Micheal Holton, a 1st
Place winner in the Biological Sciences category of an NIEHS sponsored
Science Fair also determined that the tempo of music can affect your heart
rate. But there is another reason that NIEHS includes this sing-along
section for its visitors -- sing along activities are very educational.
Please learn more about the educational purpose of the NIEHS Kids' Pages and
visit other Research Resources on the Educational Benefits of Music to see
how music may help you build a healthier life and brighter future.
OK, I found the song there along with the tinny piano accompaniment they
provide over and over and over again.
She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes
She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes
She'll be coming round the mountain, she'll be coming round the mountain,
She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes
She'll be driving six white horses when she comes
She'll be driving six white horses when she comes
She'll be driving six white horses, she'll be driving six white horses,
She'll be driving six white horses when she comes
Oh, we'll all go out to meet her when she comes
Oh, we'll all go out to meet her when she comes
Oh, we'll all go out to meet her, we'll all go out to meet her,
We'll all go out to meet her when she comes
She'll be wearing red pajamas when she comes
She'll be wearing red pajamas when she comes
She'll be wearing red pajamas, she'll be wearing red pajamas,
She'll be wearing red pajamas when she comes
She will have to sleep with Grandma when she comes
She will have to sleep with Grandma when she comes
She will have to sleep with Grandma, she will have to sleep with Grandma,
She will have to sleep with Grandma when she comes
I seem to remember also a verse -
Oh we'll kill the old red turkey when she comes...
