Oh dear,
I thought Clothier was largely dead and buried.
These nurses should have had screening at entry into training and this
may or may not have involved a GP report. The student and tutors will
then complete the fitness to practice certification.
Clothier was superseded by "Mental Health & Employment in the NHS" and
this was also then followed by revisions in the Blue Book.
This employment group may be subject to enhanced CRB checks but this is
not an OH issue.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Paediatric Nurses
Dear All
Can you please let me know whether you do any additional screening for
newly qualified Paediatric nurses, by obtaining a medical report from
their GP for all successful applicants, before they are passed fit?
This is a question that I have recently been asked as a Hospital within
my local region expect this a part of their standard pre-employment
screening for this staff group working only in paediatrics. I believe
this may have come from the Clothier Report.
I would be interested in your responses.
Many thanks
Tracy
