One of the main objectives of this peripatetic seminar series, which has
been organised by the UKCHNM, is to encourage inter-disciplinary
networking and the exchange of knowledge, skills and experience between
scholars within the wide range of academic and professional disciplines
which contribute to the overall body of knowledge on the history of
midwifery. Attendance by practising midwives is also welcomed.
The seminars will act as a catalyst for the development of a larger
research support network and selected web-based resources, to be
developed under the auspices of the UKCHNM.
The presentations, by accomplished speakers, provide a blend of original
work and an opportunity to discuss some of the methodological aspects of
historical research.
For further details of these exciting seminars, which are free of charge
and sponsored by the Wellcome Trust, please contact the designated local
organisers.
