- certainly Keynote (in Apple's iWork suite) handles this beautifully
and intuitively, as it does everything else, causing PowerPoint users
to explain 'HOW did you do that?!'; and of course either timed or on a
key-stroke, as you chose.
- but if you're really stuck with PowerPoint, you get something similar
if you chose 'QuickTime transition' at the top of the list and then
Transitions > Cross-fade
