Speakers: Caroline De Brún, National Library for Health
and Angela Jefkins, Career Development Group
CILIP Chartership is a voluntary process but very worthwhile. Caroline
chartered in 1998. In 2005 she became an official mentor for new chartership
candidates. She is currently mentoring her third candidate and finds the
whole process very rewarding. Caroline will talk about the benefits of
chartering and how it has supported her throughout her career.
Caroline De Brún graduated from the University of North London in 1996 with
an MA in Library and Information Studies. She commenced her professional
career as a medical librarian, moving on to managing the library service,
and then becoming a primary care outreach librarian for Oxfordshire. She now
works for the National Library for Health developing a Knowledge Management
Specialist Library.
The talk will be preceded by a short presentation by Angela Jefkins, a
Chartership Support Officer, on how the Career Development Group can help
candidates achieve Chartership status. She will bring examples of successful
Chartership submissions.
This talk will be of particular value to anyone registered for CILIP
Chartership and can contribute towards CPD requirements.

professional interest in the topic. Refreshments will be available
