Subject: Re: BL downloads
Hi all,
I have been contacted several times recently regarding the problem with Adobe and BL SEDs. I saw the newsletter and that is all well and good but it is worth mentioning it will not work if you don’t get IT to configure the firewall.
In case you are still having problems these are the techy bits that you can you can pass on to your IT department:
1. Acrobat communicates on port 80 and port 443.
2. The following domains need to be reachable:
* www.secureattachment.com
* http://acs.ebooks.info2clear.com (drm server)
* https://aractivate.adobe.com (Activation server)
3. Although Acrobat uses port 80 and port 443 to communicate with the servers, no html files are transmitted. The following content types are used: xml, pdf, fdf and etd.
4. Acrobat uses custom HTTP headers to communicate with ACS. Some firewalls remove them. It is important that those headers are not removed from requests for the DRM server.

Hi
We use Adobe 7 & don't seem to have problems.
Also, according to BLs July 2007 Newsletter, you can now use Adobe 8.

I've been holding off asking for this upgrade but we'll be testing it soon.

Subject: BL downloads
Greetings people, on a - as yet - dry, sunny day here in Chelmsford -
We accept BL downloads - and have jumped through hoops to be able to do this! Those of you who do likewise will know that they will only download on Acrobat Reader V. 6 - which is now becoming so out-of-date (I think the latest is version 8). We are soon to have new machines - indeed, some of us in the team already have these. Our IT people question whether BL downloads 'really' require v. 6.
Can any technical bods among you - or even a lurking BL person, if there is one such - tell me if a later version of Adobe will work for BL downloads?
Many thanks - Zena
