...................................................................................................
New buildings have consistently attracted the interest of Information
professionals in recent years and the Information Commons at the University of
Sheffield is no exception. Thanks to colleagues at the Information Commons who
have kindly agreed to host a visit by the UC&R East Midlands Section on
Tuesday
26th February.
Some of you may have seen the article in the recent edition of the Cilip
Library & Information Update
for January/February 2008. The Information Commons has been claimed to be the
first such building to bear this title in the U.K. and the term has its roots
in a similar building at the University of Auckland. The building has a
distinctive layout to support the University’s learning, teaching and
assessment strategy.
Further information and details of the location are available from
http://www.shef.ac.uk/infocommons/
So if this has whetted your appetite why not join us to take a look around on
Tuesday February 26th. There is no charge made for the visit, you will have
to
make your own travel arrangements and you will need
to book a place. Details of the start of the tour will be sent to you when
you
have booked. There will be opportunity for questions during and after the
tour.
Places are limited to a maximum of 20 people - so book early!
To make a booking please contact me, thanks.
We look forward to seeing you there.
