yes george hi again & thanx very much for the
attentive review

& of course you are right to be amused by the apparent
claim

but what i do earnestly mean to convey by this term
official united nations
is that all 173 of the listed trijunctions & no others
in the world
so far as i can see
are actually comprised of & by 3 fully acknowledged
sovereign official member states of the united nations

& so i do not mean to include the tripoints produced
by nonmember nonsovereign entities such as western
sahara
which is generally even if not unanimously recognized
as de facto a part of the sovereign member state of
morocco
& thus not at all in its own right an official united
nation
so to say
notwithstanding that it does own an official iso
digraph
eh

nor gaza
which is still de facto a part of sovereign israel
i suppose

nor somaliland
which is still de jure a part of sovereign somalia

etc
etc

but the presumably imminent kosovo tripoints in
particular are promising to become a special problem
for this registry
since kosovo isnt likely to be admitted to the turtle
bay country club any time soon
tho its sovereignty may attain to a broad or even
majority recognition

but fortunately we dont have to worry about that for
at least a few more days
