Unlike the "we can't do anything stance" of some, we've received a
missive saying that even though it's not obligatory to have
Smartcards the NHS may find it difficult to pay for some services (ie
breach its contract to pay) practices where doctors have not used
their Smartcards.
Unsurprisingly the GPC is not up in arms about this threat being
used, and of course is so keen for money to be in the hands of PCTs
(to pay for private contractors) that it's already advised us all to
agree to GPSoC.
