Hi Ingo,
I don't doubt that this is the case for everyone.
The problem is that because the segment identifier is a per-atom
property, it is not easy for coot to know what the segment identifier
for the new atoms should be. It could guess of course, but I'm not sure
that that would be a whole lot better than the current situation.
