It's not you. I don't have the hardware myself yet (maybe if I can get a
real job someday) so it has been slow going.
So far I've found that it works fine on 10.4.11, but won't work for "my"
coot on 10.5.X. I've had the user try versions compiled on both 10.4 and
10.5, and tried re-compiling everything I could think of that is critical.
I'm completely stumped at the moment. x11-pymol does work, so it isn't the
OS.
Is there anyone out there who has coot working in stereo on 10.5?
