William & Mary’s Department of Anthropology invites applications for a one-
year visiting assistant professor (with the possibility of a one-year
renewal) beginning in Fall ’08. We seek an archaeologist who can teach
five courses, including an introductory archaeology course and
undergraduate and graduate classes with areal and topical themes that
enhance the department's offerings in historical archaeology, historical
anthropology, comparative colonialism, Native American studies, and the
African diaspora. Candidates should demonstrate a record of successful
teaching and scholarly activity, preferably related to the historical
archaeology of the Atlantic world. Review of applicants will begin March
3rd. Applications should include a letter of application, curriculum
