For September 2008 entry, the following funding opportunities are offered:
- Up to four fees-only bursaries for part-time students, plus
either one
fees-only bursary for a full-time student or up to two additional
fees-only bursaries for part-time students. These bursaries will be
available on a competitive basis to those applying for entry to the
MPhil/PhD programme in September 2008. The competition for these awards
will also be open to current MPhil/PhD students. Overseas students as well
as home/EU students may apply, although the value of each award will be
equal to the fees applied to a home/EU student. Applications consisting of
a brief letter and a Curriculum Vitae should be sent by 1 May 2008 to
Maria Macdonald, Postgraduate Secretary, Department of English &
Comparative Literature, Goldsmiths, University of London, New Cross,
London SE14 6NW (email [log in to unmask], telephone 020 7919 7436).
Applicants must also be applying for entry to the MPhil/PhD programme on
the appropriate College application form.
- In addition, through Goldsmiths' new Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme,
the Department is able to make available, by competition, one bursary of
£1,000 (or two bursaries of £500 each for part-time students) for home/EU
entrants to the MA, MRes and MPhil/PhD programmes in the Department. You
will need to complete an application form for the Postgraduate Scholarship
Scheme and return it with the application for your course. Your
application form for this scheme must explain why you wish to be
considered for the award on the basis of academic merit. The deadline for
making an application is 1 April 2008. You can download an application
form [pdf], or email [log in to unmask]
- Fourteen identically-valued awards are also available, as part of the
same Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme, to applicants across all the
departments of the College; they will be awarded by competition, on the
basis of the same applications (no separate application necessary). Awards
under the College's Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme are designed for
home/EU students, but overseas students may apply instead for the numerous
International Postgraduate Scholarships that the College offers, through
competition, specifically to entering overseas students.
