Did you try to use the 'q' key to manually relocate your peak labels?
With that you should be able to reposition your peak labels as needed.
There is a auto-label-rearrange routine as well (select the 'bunched up
peaks' and then find it in one of the right-click menus), but doing this
manually is probably more reliable.
