JOB TITLE: Digitisation Officer. 2 Posts.

HOURS OF WORK: Full Time. 36 hours (net) per week.
JOB STATUS: Fixed Term Appointment – 2 years.

JOB DETAILS:
•The Digitisation Officer will support the conversion of a range of archive
material into digital assets.
•Scan material and create metadata to enable successful storage and
retrieval.
•Contribute to the achievement of project objectives.
ESSENTIALS:
•The successful applicant will have 5 x GCSE’s or equivalent at grade C or
above, including Biology/Botany/Science, Maths & English.
•Standard computer proficiency on Microsoft Office.
•The ability to collect & interpret data and to make sound decisions within
the scope of the project.
•The ability to communicate in a clear manner both orally & in writing.

JOB DETAILS:
•Implementation and monitoring of Directors Correspondence Digitisation
Project plan.
•Supervision and quality control of the work of the Project Digitisers.
•Support the Electronic Resources Manager and the Head of Library, Art &
Archives in the management of the project.
•Collaborate with other collections digitisation staff and projects,
especially those in the Herbarium.
•Scan and generate metadata for the letters.
ESSENTIALS:
•The successful applicant will have a degree or equivalent.
•Demonstrable knowledge of digitisation and metadata standards & techniques.
•Familiarity with working on a digitisation project(s) – planning and
execution.
•Demonstrable staff & project management – able to show management ability
in a specific project.
