Accreditation Questionnaire
At present the Records Management Society does not offer professional accreditation to its
members.
However this matter has been discussed over time by both members and the executive. The
September
2007 issue of the RMS Bulletin updated members on the commissioned report by the University of
Dundee and the establishment of the Accreditation Sub-Committee.
The Accreditation Sub-committee was established to look at the issue of accreditation and the next
phase of work is consultation with the membership to ascertain whether accreditation is desirable.
At the weblink:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=6_2bJR9VncxcG0RiTf5jMlHA_3d_3d
is a questionnaire regarding whether the RMS should pursue accreditation for individual members -
many members are aware of the accreditation models that other professional bodies have adopted -
is
a change to the membership model of the society necessary or desirable?
We would be grateful if you could complete the questionnaire to let us know your personal thoughts
on the matter and whether the RMS should take this forward.
Please note questionnaire responses will be anonymous unless you choose to provide your contact
details. Responses will be analysed by the Accreditation Sub-Commitee and a synopsis reported at
the RMS Conference 2008 and in the RMS Bulletin.
With many thanks in anticipation
Lucy Burrow - RMS Training Director
On behalf of the Accreditation Sub-Committee: Sarah Emmerson, Rachael Maguire, Nicola Franklin,
Rod
Bowie, Geraldine Sharman and Diana Windsor-Brown.
