As with most people we still see new students so that we can establish
identity and issue student cards, and deal with any other issues around
their enrolment, we have a lot of issues with determining fee status.
Once a student has extablished their identity and fee status then we do
not see them again, even if they enrol on a new course.
I think the SLC guidance on confirming attendance for loan purposes
suggests that you should not start sending SSAC files until 2 weeks prior
to the start of term. This allows students to change their minds if they
enrol early.
