I have used these dryers a few times now and apart from being quite
un-nerving (!)...they were effective, i.e. quick.
I too feel they do need quite a lot of dexterity at the wrist and elbow and
of course the hands/fingers need to be kept flat/straight. It felt a bit
like being in a toaster....Air-flow on the ones I have used was quite
vicious and the units rather noisy.
It may be that awards are given without complete consideration of the needs
of all users. I feel I would always advise provision of paper towel or
standard air-dryers as well as the air-blade, certainly until the technology
has developed a bit.

Subject: Dyson Hand Dryers
I have a specific question regarding the new 'award winning' Dyson
airbalde hand dryers. A client has installed these in all WCs at a new HQ
including at lower level in the accessible cubicles. The question has
been raised as to whether these are 'accessible' as they require the user
to have more dexterity than a standard dryer...any experience/opinions
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Clare
