Just a thought: did any of the individuals associated with the early
construction of Wicca know Shri Gurudev Mahendranath (Dadaji)?
If that were indeed the case, then a (Hindu) tantric connexion would be
assured.
Swami Anadakapila's "Ecstasy Through Tantra" was first published in the late
1970's (my copy is hidden away in a box at the moment, so I can't find the
exact publication date).
The reference to witchcraft (Wicca specifically) is by way of analogy, there
is no attempt at documenting a direct influence.
