Hi Felicia.
Sigh,... yes those sorts of people *are* dangerous. And they are just the
types of people who need to read David Frankfurter's book "Evil Incarnate:
Rumours of Demonic Conspiracy and Satanic Abuse in History" (Princeton Uni
Press 2006) but who never will. They, for some reason, want to remain
ignorant of what the OTO really does and continue on with the masochistic
pleasure they get from *imagining* some sort of fantastic depraved
scenario... Why they actually *want* to live in a world of craziness I don't
know. There's a lot more info in the story that what Barney (religions
reporter) writes in the paper, but I haven't made a big effort to actually
go to the court cases and follow it all closely - basically because I don't
need to pollute my brain with ugliness when I'm trying to cram it with
fascinating and pleasurable material - so I really only get the info second
hand from my OTO cohorts and today, from the newspaper. The OTO actually
don't want members to discuss it on the internet, so I just forward what is
common knowledge ie, from the paper. But I'll just say that I know Barney
Zwartz (the reporter) a bit and its interesting that he doesn't exactly
write the whole thing up in a way that the casual reader could understand as
being *postivive* for the OTO.. I mean it doesn't explain how the OTO does
_not_ do these alleged things and what it does do instead... I guess he's
only got a certain amount of room. Also, Barney is a religions Christian
type of guy, and I think that he'd find the OTO really quite weird, so the
way he's reported it is actually quite good -for him.
~Caroline.
