Hi everybody,
Its a long time since I posted a message. The list use to have debates but
latterly has become a noticeboard.
Given how the issue of Sharia and British law has dominated public
discourse this last week, I wanted to draw attention to my quite long
contribution on the OpenDemocracy website at:
<http://www.opendemocracy.net/article/faith_ideas/europe_islam/anti_sharia_storm>
I would welcome comments of course and will try and respond to them but
perhaps ought to say in advance that I cannot promise to reply to all of
them if they are too numerous. My hope is that the piece will stimulate
some debate on the list but that the debate will be amongst members
generally and will not necessarily involve me as I have already had quite a
long say.
Best wishes
Tariq Modood
