I will be asking our meeting with GPC in Avon next Thursday whether those
GPs attending want Avon LMC to call for/campaign for a special conference of
LMCs, if a majority do, we will. Others might like to do the same?

Your GPC rep is the point of contact and he /she needs to be persuaded
that a majority of GPs in the constituency are of the same mind as you.
LMC secretaries are rather fired up ate present, especially some of the
ones not on GPC.
There is no point sending one or two emails, there are 40,000 GPs out
there and every rep thinks the GPs in his / her constituency are the
ones with the answer.
Alternatively if the BMA council were persuaded to overrule the GPC they
would have to comply. I do not think you have a cat's chance of
persuading a majority of BMA council members to do this.
The only other way would be for the required number of LMCs (about 25)
to call for a special conference of LMCs to debate a proposal to
substitute the proposed poll with Ye s/ No questions on Option A. I do
not think you have a cat's whisker's chance of this.
The tanker will turn only if a majority vote for B. Otherwise why should it?
