William & Mary’s Department of Anthropology invites applications for a one-
year visiting assistant professor beginning in Fall ’08. We seek an
ethnohistorian who can teach five courses, including the introduction to
Cultural Anthropology and undergraduate and graduate classes on various
topics, and historical methods that enhance the department's offerings in
historical archaeology, historical anthropology, comparative colonialism,
Native American studies, and the African diaspora. Candidates should
demonstrate a record of successful teaching and scholarly activity,
preferably related to the ethnohistory of the Americas, or Atlantic world.
Review of applicants will begin March 3rd. Applications should include a
letter of application, curriculum vitae, and three letters of reference
