Excellent comment. The visual arts suffer under an
even more grotesque form of the innovation-hyperbole
by (at least in the USA) a hypnotic repetition of the
cliche "cutting edge." I've decided that "cutting
edge" refers to the dangers of paper cuts inherent in
opening glossy art magazines to find something to
copy. . . .
