The Physics Innovations Centre for Excellence (piCETL) would like to invite
you to
*******************************************************************
The 6th Annual
Problem-Based Learning
Summer Workshop
University of Leicester,
14-16 July 2008.
*******************************************************************
This unique residential event gives you the opportunity to discuss and
develop your own PBL implementation, whether you are starting from scratch,
becoming involved in an existing programme, or are looking at ways of
refreshing and sustaining your present course.
The programme will consist of discussion papers, workshops, oral
presentations and posters. Intending participants are invited to submit
brief abstracts of papers or posters about PBL research, practice, or plans
or issues in the implementation of PBL.
Experts and delegates will be on hand to offer advice and support
throughout the three days.
The Summer Workshop is suitable for anyone engaged or thinking of becoming
engaged in PBL. We welcome lecturers, tutors, course-, staff-, and
curriculum-developers, teachers, and facilitators. Although piCETL is
chiefly focussed on the physical sciences, the Summer Workshop is NOT
discipline-specific, and colleagues from the arts and social sciences will
be welcomed alongside those from the sciences, engineering, mathematics,
and IT fields.
The atmosphere is informal and the location, in the leafy Oadby Halls of
Residence situated adjacent to the botanical gardens, is convivial. Come
and join us to learn about and share PBL practice, and to spend some time
thinking about your own implementation issues and goals.
