I have a relatively large (maybe 50-60cm diameter) ammonite named
Ammonites martisoni in the collections here.
It is probably from East Wear Bay, Folkestone.
Anyone heard of that species? I can't seem to match it up.
Obviously I can re-ID it, but I'd like to trace the historical name if
possible. A.martini is the best match, and is from roughly the right age,
but if anyone knows better I'd be glad to hear from you.
Thanks in advance
