Dear Colleagues

This is just a brief email to notify you of the next RMS North of England 
Group Meeting.

The meeting will be on the topic of 'Digital Preservation' and will be held 
on 3 April 2008 at Wigan Town Hall.

I would be grateful if members could let me know of any issues that they 
would like considering under this programme and also of any prospective 
speakers that they may know of.

Further details as to the venue and how to reserve places will follow in 
due course.

It is anticipated that there will be a charge for non-members 
who wish to attend.  

Please also note that due to a large number of 'no-shows' at recent 
meetings, the Committee has taken the decision that non-attendance at a 
meeting will result in a penalty charge of £10 being levied on non-
attendees unless we receive apologies prior to the meeting.

We have taken this decision as both the group and our sponsors have 
incurred costs for catering etc for delegates who have chosen not to attend 
without informing us and so not allowing us to adjust numbers for catering 
etc accordingly. We will be taking cancellations up to 12 hours prior to 
the start of the meeting and will be providing a phone number for you to 
contact to make cancellation easier. 

While we regret having to take this decision I am sure that you can all 
appreciate our position as we as a group have limited funds and low 
attendances make it hard for us to attract sponsors to support the group 
and our meetings.
