I'm sure they'd take up the slack left by the (proposed) hole. I think
there's some debate about whether or not universities are really a
route to those lucrative careers. Bill Gates dropped out of MIT, for
example. In my own chosen field an art degree can be seen as a
disadvantage. Going to art school won't teach you how to paint.
I've heard some discussion of an "ivy league" for the UK, as if we
weren't elitist enough already.
I guess what ticks me off about oxcam if the downright snobbery,
clubiness, smugness and insularity; the "we're going to rule the
world" attitude, when in fact, they never will. The three elements
gather as a cloud above the cam, infecting those who come within
reach.
